BIRTHING (MOM)ENTS DOULA SERVICES

Birthing (MOM)ents is the birth worker portion of

My TransParent (MOM)ents.

A (MOM)ent is when real life motherhood meets divine revelation. Birthing (MOM)ents is the meeting of my real loss as a MOM and the divine purpose I believe my baby introduced me to.

Just one month after the loss of my baby, Justice River, I began training to become a birth, bereavement, and postpartum doula with Sisters In Loss. Although my baby's life was short-lived, it was without a doubt purpose-filled. That purpose will continue to flow through me for the rest of my days as I continue to build relationships, back families, and now assist in birthing (MOM)ents with Birthing (MOM)ents Doula Services (BMDS).

THE BMDS CONNECTION

Black women historically have the highest maternal mortality rates, being 3 to 4 times more likely to die from childbirth than white women. Our aim at BMDS is to do what we can to change that narrative, and we would love your help.

By donating to BMDS, for the BMDS Connection, you'd be helping us to secure black birth workers for the black community!

BMDS Connection is a program within Birthing (MOM)ents Doula Services, existing to:

- assist expecting Black MOMs who do not have the financial resources to secure black birth workers for their pregnancies, labors, and deliveries.

- provide payment (and in some cases connect them with actual birth workers) to birth workers who will ensure that the birthing women/families have the extra care and advocacy needed.

EXPECTING MOMS
